It takes a lot of people coming together with their own dreams, energy, vision, and styles to make our experiences powerful ones. I work with guides and organizations in the community as much as possible. This makes Evolve Wild sustainable, adaptable and community based.
If there was a single question that guide the course of my life, that question is “Why do us humans consciously put life on the planet, and our own existence, in peril?” This led me to study psychology in college, but nothing I learned helped me understand myself as my time outdoors. I went backpacking and skiing tons during my youth and learned to guide rafts in college. This all led me to a job in wilderness therapy, and later, a master’s in ecopsychology.
Through all of this, I became aware of how the environment changes the way people understand themselves, life, and the world. We just see and feel differently about everything when we’re in nature.
I created Evolve Wild to offer people what I have yet to find anywhere else; An introduction to the depths of this awareness and to create the setting and activities for you to have your own experience in wild nature, and a community to keep it all live.
The philosophical principles of the 8-fold path, practicing gratitude for nature and food, and people, guide Shana’s life. She sees everything as sacred and celebrates all with ritual. She enjoys teaching Ayurveda, meditation, and yoga and has a spiritual life-coaching business.
Shana has lived with indigenous shamanic communities, holding space for plant medicine ceremonies in Guatemala and Mexico. During her work exchange in the Yoga Forest retreat center, she offered travelers Ayurvedic Abhyanga and facial massage as well as cupping.
Shana also runs her own site, Shana’s Sanctuary.

I work with several local rafting companies and outfitters to provide an array of activities on each experience. We all get to thrive in our own particular ways.
If you are in the Pacific Northwest and want to get a feel for me in person, come rafting on the White Salmon with Portland Rafting company. Be sure and request me (Eric) if you do!
Every experience is unique, and guides vary according to the trip. This could be a guide for kids, a yoga or SUP yoga instructor, whitewater experienced guides, or even a special mushroom guide and cook. This allows for even more customized trips, as we all get to shine in our own way!
If you have a group or community that you’d like to bring together, this could be a great way to create deep connections!
If you have a group you would like to bring out, book your private trip!
